Many of our guests train before or after work in Business Bay's gyms. Massage is one of the most effective ways to recover, as long as you choose the right type and timing.
Russian massage: best for general recovery
Russian massage uses kneading, friction and vibration to boost circulation, which helps clear fatigue from worked muscles. It is energising rather than sleepy, which makes it ideal the day after a hard session.
Deep tissue: best for tight, knotted areas
If a specific muscle feels tight or restricted, deep tissue massage targets it directly. Wait 24 to 48 hours after very intense training, so you are not working on fresh micro-damage.
Thai massage: best for mobility
Lifting shortens muscles over time. Thai massage combines acupressure with assisted stretches that restore range of movement in the hips, hamstrings and shoulders.
How often?
Once every one to two weeks during heavy training blocks works well for most people. Drink plenty of water afterwards and keep the next session light.
Finish with a soak in our jacuzzi to keep muscles loose.
